Dr. Barbara Taylor is a Professor of Infectious Diseases and the Assistant Dean for the MD/MPH Program at UT Health San Antonio with co-appointments at the UTHealth San Antonio and UT Health Houston Schools of Public Health.
Dr. Taylor conducts research to improve health outcomes for underserved populations living with or at risk for HIV in San Antonio and internationally. She is the principal investigator of UT Health San Antonio's COVID-19 Prevention Network site, a PI on the Researching COVID to Enhance Recovery (RECOVER) study, and works on other clinical trials for COVID-19 and HIV. She provides treatment for people living with HIV and other infectious diseases in San Antonio. A strong community advocate, she served as a founding co-chair of the End Stigma End HIV Alliance of San Antonio and the Clinician Key Opinion Leader for San Antonio's Fast Track Cities Initiative. Her commitment to education has earned her numerous teaching and service awards.
Dr. Taylor is an alumna of Princeton University, Harvard Medical School, and the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health and is board certified in internal medicine and infectious diseases.
