Dr. Jean Sim holds a joint appointment in both the Department of Infectious Diseases and the Department of Infection Prevention and Epidemiology at the Singapore General Hospital. She was appointed as the Deputy Head of the Antimicrobial Resistance Coordinating Office (AMRCO) at the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID) in 2023. Her professional interests are deeply rooted in the study of antimicrobial resistance and its surveillance, with a particular focus on hospital epidemiology. She is committed to advancing our understanding and management of nosocomial infections, and was awarded the Healthcare Manpower Development Plan Award for system approaches in managing nosocomial infections at the UMC Utrecht in the Netherlands. She is actively involved in various surveillance efforts targeting multi-drug resistant organisms, both at the Singapore General Hospital and on a national level through her work at AMRCO, NCID.
