Dr. Salwa Nasrat is a Public Health Specialist at NAMRU-EURAFCENT, where she leads the Healthcare-associated Infections (HAI) and Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) surveillance team.
With ten years of experience in HAI, AMR, and data analysis, Dr. Nasrat has been instrumental in developing surveillance systems in Egypt and Jordan. Her work focuses on coordinating HAI surveillance actvities and providing guidance to hospitals to establish and implement prevention bundles to control and monitor AMR and HAIs rates, detecte any potenital outbreaks, and evaluate the effectiveness of Infection prevention and control measures. Dr. Nasrat has collaborated with varoius sectors (Mintsty of Health, University, Private, and Miltary sectors) to enhance the monitoring of HAI and AMR, and to develop robust evaluation strategies that inform public health policies and practices.
She holds MPH with health services management specialization from University of London (London School of Hygiene and Tropical medicine), and she is a member in SHEA and IDSA.
Dr. Nasrat is committed to advancing public health through evidence-based approaches, and she continues to drive innovation in the field of communicable disease surveillance and monitoring and evaluation.
