Corey Medler is an Infectious Diseases Clinical Pharmacist at the University of Virginia Health and received his PharmD from The University of Tennessee Health Science Center School of Pharmacy. He subsequently completed PGY1 Pharmacy Residency at Henry Ford Hospital followed by an Infectious Diseases/Antimicrobial Stewardship Pharmacy Fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital and Wayne State University. Dr. Medler’s clinical research primarily focuses on antimicrobial stewardship, transitions of care, investigating risk factors associated with antibiotic-associated harms, and implementing antimicrobial stewardship strategies to optimize antibiotic use and reduce resistance. In addition to precepting students from the VCU School of Pharmacy, he precepts PGY1 and PGY2 residents on the General Infectious Diseases consult and OPAT services. He also serves as the Service rotation preceptor for PGY2 ID residents.
