Joy Gibson, MD, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA). Dr. Gibson has dedicated her career to improving the management of difficult to treat infections in patients with cystic fibrosis. Clinically, she works closely with the CF center at CHLA, providing inpatient and outpatient consultation for CF patients. In her research, she leads the hollow fiber section of INSPIRE, a collaborative research group between Infectious Diseases and Pulmonary faculty, focused on optimizing treatment for challenging CF pathogens. Her research is supported by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF) and the NIH and she is an investigator in CFF therapeutic development network- and industry-sponsored clinical trials.
