I am currently the Director of Research Operations at the Orlando Immunology Center and an adjunct Assistant Professor of Global Health at the Emory University Rollins School of Public Health. I have a multi-disciplinary background and previous experience in clinical HIV medicine, HIV epidemiology and research focused on novel HIV therapeutics and prevention options. At the Orlando Immunology Center, I serve as a staff infectious disease physician and provide direct clinical care for patients with HIV, viral hepatitis and STIs in addition to supervising three nurse practitioners. In my role as the OIC Director of Research Operations, I supervise the clinical research unit which conducts approximately 40-60 ongoing Phase I-IV clinical trials evaluating novel treatment modalities for HIV, HIV prevention, viral hepatitis and STIs. Currently, I serve as the principal/sub investigator on all clinical trials conducted at the OIC and am directly responsible for the provision of research-related care to our clinical trial participants. Additionally, I am the principal investigator of several investigator-sponsored studies at the OIC and have received research funding from Gilead Sciences, Janssen Infectious Diseases and ViiV Healthcare. In Orlando, I serve as a research mentor for medical students at the University of Central Florida and teach in the Infectious Disease fellowship curriculum at Orlando Regional Medical Center.
