Dr. Emma C. Phillips, MD, is a third-year Internal Medicine resident physician at The Ohio State University. She has a passion for all things ID including hospital epidemiology, antimicrobial stewardship, and HIV. She has previously presented a poster at IDWeek 2021 and published on the use of tigecycline for C. difficile infections. She is an advocate for patient safety through quality improvement and is currently working on a project to increase Internal Medicine resident utilization of an electronic hand hygiene monitoring system. Her other professional interests lie in Medical Education and leadership, having recently completed a competitive Medical Education, Teaching, and Leadership track, with several lectures delivered to residents and medical students throughout her training. In her future career, she hopes to advocate for patients living with HIV by teaching the next generation of medical students and residents and researching topics in prevention and complications of HIV. She lives in Columbus, OH, with her cat and partner, and enjoys pickleball, competitive music trivia, and crafting charcuterie boards.
