Dr. Rojas is a highly qualified professional with a solid academic background in Medicine, Pediatrics, and Epidemiology. He obtained his medical degree, as well as his specialization in Pediatrics and a master's degree in Epidemiology from the Faculty of Health Sciences at Universidad Libre, Cali Campus, Colombia. He complemented his education with a second specialization in Pediatric Infectious Diseases from Universidad El Bosque, Bogotá, Colombia, and is currently completing his Doctorate in Health at Universidad del Valle, Colombia. He has expanded his knowledge through Intensive Training in Vaccinology and its Policies 2022 (PEIVAP 2022) in Miami, organized by the Latin American Society of Pediatric Infectious Diseases (SLIPE) and Florida International University.
With a distinguished career in clinical and epidemiological research, Dr. Rojas has explored areas such as infectious diseases, bacterial resistance, dengue, Human T-lymphotropic Virus (HTLV), and Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). His experience includes training and teaching in clinical and epidemiological research, supported by the publication of over 80 articles in pediatrics, epidemiology, and infectious diseases. Dr. Rojas has been recognized for his excellence, receiving the award for outstanding resident from the Colombian Society of Pediatrics during the 28th Colombian Congress of Pediatrics in 2013.
Currently, he works as a lecturer in the Pediatric postgraduate programs at Universidad Libre and Universidad del Valle, as well as in the Epidemiology master's program at Universidad Libre, Cali Campus, and in the undergraduate Medicine programs at Universidad San MartÃn and Pontifical Javeriana University, Cali Campus, Colombia. Additionally, he is an active member of the Colombian Medical College (CMC), Colombian Society of Pediatrics (SCP), Colombian Association of Infectious Diseases (ACIN), SLIPE, International Society Of Pneumonia And Pneumococcal Diseases (ISPPD), American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (ASTMH), Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (RSTMH), and the International Retrovirology Association (IRVA).
