I attended Medical School in the “Universidad de Carabobo” in Valencia, Venezuela. I quickly identified my interest in Infectious Diseases during my rural rotation in a remote community near the Orinoco River in Venezuela after treating many patients with tropical infectious diseases. I completed Internal Medicine Residency and Infectious Diseases Fellowship in the University of Texas in San Antonio.
I provide long term antibiotics in the Outpatient Parenteral Antibiotic Clinic (OPAT) in the Robert B Green Clinic from the University Hospital System. I actively participate in research projects evaluating outcomes of patients followed in our OPAT clinic and I am interested in evaluating clinical outcomes of patients with complicated fungal infections.
I am also a provider and Medical Director at the Alamo Area Resource Center, a community clinic focused in providing integral care for LGTBQ patients and people living with HIV in San Antonio. I am interested in pre and post-exposure prophylaxis for HIV, transgender care, integral treatment for people living with HIV, Hepatitis B and C.
I also actively participate in teaching Medical Students, Residents, Fellows, and other trainees in the UT Health San Antonio School of Medicine.
