I , Lt Col (Rtd) Dr. Syed Hassan Abdullah, Country Head, South Asia Field Epidemiology and Technology Network (SAFETYNET), Bangladesh Office. I am Public Health Epidemiologist.I servded 24 years in Bangladesh army in the field of public health and Health care management. I am seasoned with shouldering various responsibilties and challanges in home and abroad. My Team leader experiences as Commander of various Military Hospital provided splendid exposure to plan, execute and coordinate medical support service in war and peace time. Three times deplyoment in UN peachekeeping opeartion allowed me to exercise skills in international arena and enriched capabilities to handle the challanges of most critical situation. As a consultant of US CDC, I engaed with the Infection Prevetion Control program of Ministry of Health and contributed in variouus way. I contributed as one of the Expertee to develop the National IPC guideline of Bangladesh. As a Country Head of safetynet Bangladesh, since it’s inception in 2020, I have successfully implemented a good number of Public health program in collaboration with US CDC, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Local Govt and other National and international partners.
As Team Lead of Safetynet Bangladesh I am implementing various projects including IPC & AMS program in 12 Tertiary Hospitals, Strengthening urban public health program, Public Health Policy Mapping Program, Infectious disease surveillance program.
