Kristina G. Hulten, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX with a joint appointment at the School for Health Professions. She is Director of the Dr. Edward O. Mason, Jr. Pediatric Infectious Disease Laboratory at Texas Children’s Hospital. Dr. Hulten joined Baylor College of Medicine as a Postdoctoral fellow in 1997 after completing her doctoral degree in Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology at Uppsala University, Sweden. Her main research focus concerns the pathology, antimicrobial susceptibility, epidemiology and molecular epidemiology of Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pneumoniae infections. At Baylor College of Medicine, Dr. Hulten is also involved with Medical School Admissions, basic science classroom instruction, and mentoring of trainees ranging from undergraduate students to pediatric residents and fellows.
