My name is Kristen Tudahl, and I am a third-year pharmacy student at the University of Wisconsin Madison School of Pharmacy. Prior to pharmacy school, I worked as a medical laboratory scientist in the core laboratory for 2 years and then specialized as a clinical microbiologist for an additional 2 years with my undergraduate clinical laboratory science degree at the Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, WI. Being involved with the heath system antimicrobial stewardship program from a laboratory perspective along with my aspirations to work directly with patients inspired me to return to the educational space to receive my PharmD. I am currently pursuing the Antimicrobial Stewardship Path of Distinction along side traditional course work, and collaborating with Dr. Cecilia Volk, PharmD in her clinical and translational infectious disease research investigating the interactions between the host immune system, infecting pathogens, and antibiotics. My current aspirations are to pursue a PGY-2 infectious disease residency after completion of a PGY-1 general pharmacy residency post-graduation.
