Jessica Howard-Anderson, MD, MSc, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine and the interim Hospital Epidemiologist at Emory University Hospital Midtown. She completed her medical school, residency and chief residency at University of California Los Angeles. Dr. Howard-Anderson completed fellowship training in infectious diseases at Emory University in 2021 and during her fellowship obtained a Master of Science in Clinical Research and was selected for a research fellowship with the NIH-funded Antibacterial Resistance Leadership Group. Dr. Howard-Anderson’s research focuses on: 1) epidemiology and risk factors for multidrug-resistant gram-negative infections, 2) using novel methodologies such as DOOR (desirability of outcome ranking) to better understand the clinical outcomes of patients with multidrug-resistant organisms, and 3) employing diagnostic stewardship to improve antimicrobial prescribing and decrease healthcare associated infections.
