Dara Czernikowski, MPH, CIC is a Senior Infection Preventionist at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, based in Pittsburgh, PA. Dara received her BS from the University of Pittsburgh, and MPH in Infectious Diseases & Microbiology from the University of Pittsburgh School of Public Health. She is certified in Infection Prevention & Control (CIC) and is an active member of her local APIC chapter (Three Rivers APIC).
Prior to entering Infection Prevention, Dara worked on both quantitative & qualitative research studies ranging from synthetic biology to pediatric emergency medicine. After 6 years of collective research experience, she is excited for the opportunity to continue pursuing her research interests as an IP in a pediatric acute care facility.
Outside of work, Dara enjoys solving sudoku puzzles, indoor rock climbing, spending time with her two cats, and making homemade pierogi!
