Dr. Po-Han Huang, MD, MSc, is currently a second-year Epidemiology PhD student at the University of Pittsburgh School of Public Health. Before starting his graduate study, he was a physician with completed training in infectious diseases in Taiwan.
Dr. Huang graduated from the medical school of National Yang-Ming-Chiao-Tong University in Taiwan. He earned a master degree in health policy, which was a joint program offered by the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine and London School of Economics and Political Science. He received residency training in internal medicine and fellowship training in infectious diseases at Taipei Veterans General Hospital, a 3000-bed medical center located at the capital of Taiwan.
Dr. Huang's previous research focused on the emergence and mechanisms of antimicrobial resistance of carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae. During his graduate study at the University of Pittsburgh, he has been investigating the vaccine effectiveness against respiratory viruses.
