Brian M. Maas, PharmD is an Associate Principal Scientist in the Pharmacokinetics, Pharmacodynamics, and Drug Metabolism Department at Merck Research Laboratories. He graduated from the University of Florida with his Doctor of Pharmacy where his research focused on demonstrating bioequivalence of inhaled drugs. He then completed a Pharmacometrics fellowship with the University of North Carolina and IQVIA. During his fellowship, Brian studied the pharmacokinetics of HIV antiretrovirals and worked on mPBPK modeling of monoclonal antibodies. He completed an ORISE fellowship at Food and Drug Administration in the Office of Clinical Pharmacology where he published on corticosteroid use in children and clinical endpoints in pediatric studies. Since joining Merck in 2017, Brian has served as the clinical pharmacology and pharmametrics lead for several early- and late- stage antiviral, metabolic, and vaccine programs. He specializes in population PK modeling, model-based meta-analysis, and pediatric drug development.
