Katie Cinnamon graduated from the North Dakota State University School of Pharmacy in 2008. She completed a PGY-1 residency at the VA Medical Center in Fargo, ND. After residency, she moved to Davenport, Iowa and worked at Genesis Medical Center as a lead clinical pharmacist for 7 years. While at Genesis, she led a variety of clinical initiatives and became board certified as a pharmacotherapy specialist. She then transitioned into an infectious diseases role and helped Genesis develop their antimicrobial stewardship program. In 2016, Katie moved to Madison, WI and started working for UW Heath as a medicine and infectious diseases pharmacist. She became board certified as an infectious diseases specialist and a clinical instructor for the University of Wisconsin School of Pharmacy and primarily worked in the inpatient medicine units, inpatient infectious diseases consults/antimicrobial stewardship, and the HIV/ID clinic. From 2022-2023 she served as co-chair of the UW Ambulatory Care Stewardship Committee. As of 2023, Katie is an infectious diseases pharmacist at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison, WI. Katie has been an active member of the Society of Infectious Diseases Pharmacists (SIDP) since 2016 and was elected as chair of the SIDP Antimicrobial Stewardship Committee in 2023-2024.
