Dr. Mody is an endowed Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of Michigan and Physician Scientist at the VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System and Professor of Epidemiology at the UM School of Public Health. Funded by NIH, VA, CDC, AHRQ and foundations, she directs an innovative translational research program on infections and aging. She leads the SHEA Research Committee as well as Infections and Aging Interest Group and IDweek.
Early in her career, she led the Junior Faculty research committee and the Medical Subspecialties Section at the American Geriatrics Society. She now serves on the leadership core of Clin-STAR coordinating center. She directs her division’s T32 training grant, NIH funded Pepper Center’s Pilot Core and with support from NIA K24 mentors the next generation of physician-scientists. Her mentees come from the fields of aging, various internal medicine specialties, surgery and related specialties, microbiology, health outcomes research, and public health.
