Mark D. Povroznik, PharmD, is the vice-president / Chief Quality Ofificer for WVU Medicine: United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV. Dr. Povroznik holds his doctorate in clinical pharmacy from WVU School of Pharmacy and completed a residency focused on infectious disease. His career blended with Quality in 2003, and he now serves as the CQO and Chairman of Infection Prevention for United Hospital Center and Co-Chair of Infection Prevention for WVU Medicine. He led unprecedented reductions in blood culture contamination rates across WVU Medicine, resulting in approximately $5M in cost avoidance by applying a Triple Aim Approach to support process improvement.
