Dimitri Drekonja, MD, MS, is Chief of Infectious Diseases at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center and is Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Minnesota Medical School. In addition to his clinical duties, Dr. Drekonja conducts clinical research in the fields of urinary tract infections, C. difficile infection, inappropriate antimicrobial use, and latent TB. He has served on the Infectious Diseases Society of America guideline committee for asymptomatic bacteriuria and is currently serving on the IDSA guideline committee for treatment of urinary tract infections.
