Dr. Davidson is a founder and Chairman of Insight Therapeutics, LLC, a research and consulting firm in Norfolk, Virginia, and is Assistant Professor of Clinical Internal Medicine, Glennan Center for Geriatrics and Gerontology, Eastern Virginia Medical School, where he also serves as Vice Chairman of the Institutional Review Board. In addition, he was formerly Editor-in-Chief of The Senior Care Pharmacist, the official journal of the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists, where he served for 22 years.
Dr. Davidson participates in research studies on geriatric-related health issues and serves as a consultant to academia, associations, and industry on geriatrics and medication management in older adults. He has participated in the analysis of clinical trial data for data safety monitoring boards, coordinated clinical trials in nursing facilities, and conducted secondary data analyses on nursing home data. He is currently engaged with other investigators in the conduct of large-scale, pragmatic, clinical trials on infectious diseases across the U.S. He is frequent referee for biomedical journals including Annals of Internal Medicine, PLOS Medicine, and Geriatric Nursing.
Since 2006, Dr. Davidson has served on the National Transitions of Care Coalition, a multi-stakeholder initiative to address problems patients encounter during care transitions. He was elected to the Board of Directors in 2016. He is a current member of the Clinical Sterring Committee for The Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medical Association (PALTmed). He also serves on the board of directors for a large urban continuing care retirement community that includes assisted living and Medicare-certified skilled care units.
Dr. Davidson earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Wofford College, Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from the Medical University of South Carolina, and a Masters in Public Health degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School/Old Dominion University, with an emphasis in epidemiologic methods.
