Mr. Sriram Radhakrishnan is an enthusiastic PharmD intern specializing in infectious diseases clinical pharmacy. He currently pursuing his Doctor of Pharmacy from C.L. Baid Metha College of Pharmacy, affiliated with The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai, India, with a distinguished academic record. Mr. Sriram is currently undergoing intensive training in antimicrobial stewardship and infectious diseases at Best of IDS, Chennai.
Mr. Sriram has demonstrated exceptional dedication to the field through his participation in daily ward rounds, monitoring drug interactions, adverse drug reactions, and ensuring rational therapy. His clinical perception was sharpened during his PharmD clerkship at Gleneagles HealthCity, where he worked closely with physicians to review and manage clinical cases, particularly focusing on antimicrobial stewardship under the guidance of infectious disease specialists.
His research interests lie in antimicrobial stewardship, optimizing antibiotic use, and preventing antimicrobial resistance. Mr. Sriram has been actively involved in various research projects, including studies on the prevalence of blood culture isolates and antibiograms, the impact of COVID-19 on routine adult immunizations in India, and antimicrobial stewardship in dengue patients. He has presented his research at notable conferences, such as the 34th European Congress of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases and CIDSCON 2023.
Mr. Sriram’s commitment to the field is reflected in his multiple certifications, including Good Clinical Practice, antimicrobial resistance and infection prevention, and clinical research methodologies. He has received the Foerderverein grant and has held leadership roles such as Student’s Vice-Chairman at his college.
Passionate about making significant contributions to public health, Mr. Sriram aims to enhance antimicrobial stewardship practices in low- and middle-income countries. His work strives to optimize antibiotic prescribing, reduce antimicrobial resistance, and improve patient outcomes through evidence-based practices.
