Dr. Sassine received his medical degree from the Lebanese American University School of Medicine in Lebanon. He subsequently completed a residency in Internal Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York, NY, where he also served as a Chief Resident. He subsequently pursued a fellowship in Infectious Diseases, Immunocompromised Track, at the University of Texas Health Science Center and MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX, where he also served as a Chief Fellow. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Infectious Diseases Section in the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, and the Associate Director of the Infectious Diseases Fellowship Program.
His clinical practice is focused on transplant infectious diseases, and his research interests include infections in patients with hematological malignancies, including hematopoietic cell transplantation and CAR T cell recipients.
