Dr. Sima Sharara is a second-year infectious diseases fellow at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Originally from Beirut, Lebanon, she completed her undergraduate studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill before returning to Lebanon for medical school at the American University of Beirut Medical Center. Following medical school, she pursued a two-year post-doctoral research fellowship under the mentorship of Dr. Sara Cosgrove at Johns Hopkins. Dr. Sharara subsequently completed her internal medicine residency at Johns Hopkins and continued there for her infectious diseases fellowship. Her research interests focus on multi-drug resistant gram-negative infections and antibiotic stewardship.
