Physician with a specialty in critical care medicine and intensive care degree obtained at the University of La Sabana, PhD in translational science and infectious diseases with postdoctoral studies in critical care and microbiology obtained at the University of Texas Health Science Center. Senior Researcher endorsed by the Colombian Ministry of Science, director of the research group Translational Science in Infectious Diseases and Critical Care Medicine (TSID-CCM) and the homonymous research group derived from this group. Also, member of the organising committee of the Global Initiative for MRSA Pneumonia (GLIMP) and the Latin American Intensive Care Network (LIVEN). In addition, national lead investigator of several Multinational Research Projects on patients with COVID-19, including studies conducted by WHO, ISARIC and ESICM; and co-chair of the ISARIC COVID-19 Intensive Care Review Group.
