Dr. Crisanta Simon is a PGY-3 internal medicine resident and researcher strongly committed to patient care and public health. Born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, she completed her degree in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Guelph. She went on to earn her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Medicine and Health Sciences in St. Kitts & Nevis and is currently completing her residency at St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury, Connecticut. During her residency, she developed a deep interest in the complexities of infectious diseases and the importance of antimicrobial stewardship.
Her work has recently centered on mycobacterial infections, such as M.marinum and M.bovis. She is actively engaged in clinical research focused on optimizing vancomycin dosing protocols to prevent renal injury.
Dr. Simon has presented her work at numerous conferences such as the Connecticut Infectious Disease Society and the American College of Physicians- Connecticut Chapter. Her dedication to the field is driven by a deep-seated belief in the power of medicine to improve lives and her ongoing desire to contribute meaningfully to the fight against infectious diseases.
