After completing my medical school in India, I moved to USA in pursuit of educational and research opportunities and evidence based medicine. I completed Internal Medicine residency from University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, Arkansas, followed by Chief Residency from University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. I completed Fellowship in Infections Diseases at Washington University School of Medicine, St Louis, Missouri and completed a Medical Education Fellowship at WashU. I am passionate about MedEd and WashU is a great place for this.
I am also passionate about amplifying the incredible work done by women in Infectious Diseases, addressing disparities in pay and gender bias faced by women in ID. To promote these discussions I have created an online community Women in ID through twitter @Women_in_ID and Facebook.
Currently I work as an Assistant Professor of Medicine, and my current MedEd roles include being the Director of Leadership Development Program for Women trainees in medicine, President of the DOM Fellows Council, Site Lead for ID Ambulatory Immersions, Faculty advisor for ID student Interest Groups and being on the IDSA Mentorship Committee and Fellows Committee.
