Toyin Falusi Nwafor, MD is Senior Medical Director, HIV Prevention at ViiV Healthcare. She is a board-certified Infectious Disease physician and Professor of Medicine who joined ViiV in 2020 as a regional medical director, after 20 years of experience in providing primary and specialty care to adults living with HIV and/or viral hepatitis at Cook County Health (CCH), Chicago/Rush University medical center, Chicago. She has contributed as a clinical researcher in the areas of HIV and aging, metabolic complications of HIV, viral hepatitis, and health disparities with over 90 abstracts presented and over 60 publications in peer-reviewed journals. Toyin was a steering committee member and co-chair of the Healthcare access sub-committee of the Illinois Getting to Zero (GTZ-IL) Plan. Toyin is an advocate for people living with HIV and is the recipient of the Aging Positively and Community Impact awards by the AIDS foundation of Chicago. Dr Nwafor is an author, podcaster, public speaker and a contributor to KevinMD site (8 articles to date since 2020). An empty nester, she enjoys dancing, gardening, writing and podcasting.
