Amy Beth Kressel, MD, MS, FIDSA, FSHEA is a Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases at the Indiana University School of Medicine.
Dr. Kressel is a healthcare leader with expertise in Infectious Diseases and system change. As Medical Director of Infection Prevention and Antimicrobial Stewardship she leads programs that protect patients by reducing their risk of harm when hospitalized. She has a flexible leadership style, both collaborating on long-term projects and leading decisively during crises. She is a valued mentor in the Division of Infectious Diseases.
Advocacy informs Dr. Kressel’s leadership and practice. Dr. Kressel has volunteered with the Infectious Diseases Society of America, Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Indiana Department of Health, and Marion County (Indiana) Public Health Department on issues ranging from COVID Vaccine Allocation, Antimicrobial Stewardship, and Outbreak Response to Infectious Diseases Payment Policy and Public Policy.
